May is the national cystic fibrosis (CF) awareness month, and each year the LJ Hooker Nerang group take part in a 65 Roses* Challenge to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia.
This year, they decided to change it up and held their first ever, LJ Hooker All-Stars Olympics for Cystic Fibrosis on Friday 17th May 2019. Here is their story:
After completing our 10th climb up Mt Warning for Cystic Fibrosis in 2018, we decided to change things up a little by launching our first LJ Hooker All-Stars Olympics!
In support of 65 Roses Awareness month, 5 LJ Hooker office teams competed in 10 (novelty) events all in aid of fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis.
LJ Hooker Currumbin proudly took home the gold medal and inaugural trophy, LJ Hooker Coolangatta/Tweed closely followed snapping up the silver, with LJ Hooker Nerang taking the final spot on the podium bringing home the bronze medal.
To date well over $15,000 has been raised for Cystic Fibrosis through our 65 Roses fundraising events.
We look forward to raising more funds in the future years and appreciate all the support provided by staff, LJ Hooker offices on the Gold Coast, friends & clients alike. CF affects 1 in 25 Australians and we still have NO CURE. We are accepting ALL donations, big or small. Every dollar helps.
The “65 Roses” story dates back to 1965 when an observant 4-year-old, hearing the name of his disease for the first time, pronounced cystic fibrosis as “65 Roses.” Today, “65 Roses” is a term often used by young children with cystic fibrosis to pronounce the name of their disease.
