The Humpty Dumpty Foundation and LJ Hooker Macksville, in association with the LJ Hooker Foundation, have answered the plea of Macksville District Hospital’s frontline with the donation of a Jaundice Detector valued at $4,780 to Maternity.
All babies are checked for jaundice (yellowing of the skin) on a daily basis. This Jaundice Detector is used to help clinicians determine jaundice levels through the skin without harming the baby. If jaundice is left untreated there is a possibility of cerebral palsy, deafness and/or brain damage.
LJ Hooker Macksville Director Paul Tobias said: “We are thrilled to be able to assist the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and support a local hospital directly with the help of the LJ Hooker Foundation.
“The Macksville District Hospital is very close to all our hearts at LJ Hooker Macksville and it gives us great pride to know that we’re helping to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”
“It is with thanks to the generosity of donors like LJ Hooker Macksville, and the ongoing support of the LJ Hooker Foundation, that the Humpty Dumpty Foundation can urgently respond to the pleas from the frontline and make a real difference to hospitals and healthcare services across Australia. Now more than ever, hospitals and healthcare services need Humpty’s help and it is important we continue our critical work of providing essential and often life-saving medical equipment to metropolitan and regional areas like Macksville to ease the load on our frontline professionals,” said Paul Francis OAM, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
