Humpty Dumpty Foundation

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation, a non-profit organisation, was formed in 1996, to purchase vital medical equipment and services for the children of the Royal North Shore Hospital. The LJ Hooker Foundation is helping Humpty purchase more medical equipment.

Established in 1996, The Humpty Dumpty Foundation purchases life-saving medical equipment for children’s hospitals and health services across Australia.

The first goals of the Foundation were simple – to raise enough money to fund a “coat of paint” for the children’s ward. For several years Humpty worked closely with the staff at Royal North Shore Hospital and assisted with providing as much medical equipment for the children’s service a financially possible.

As Humpty satisfied more requests, more and more hospitals became aware that there was an opportunity to have the equipment they needed. It also became apparent to Humpty that they needed to put a procedure in place to deal with the growing number of requests that were now coming in from all over NSW.

The Foundation formed a Medical Sub Committee to evaluate and assess all requests, these requests created Humpty’s Wish List. The Sub-Committee is made up of two specialist doctors, a representative from the Department of Health and a private sector representative.

In 2019, Humpty is now supporting more than 400 children’s hospitals and health service centres across Australia.

Humpty Dumpty also provides funding for a range of special projects including the magical Happy Gardens at various Hospitals (which promote healing and happiness, allowing sick kids to be in fresh air and enjoy some ‘normal’ time outside of a hospital environment) a part-time Nurse Educator for training in emergency paediatrics at Royal North Shore Hospital, weekly visits by the “Clown Doctors”. The Foundation also funds a Bio-medical Engineer who works with Cerebral Palsy children helping them to walk, at the Gait Lab, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Humpty’s efforts over the years have helped save countless lives of sick and injured children, and in doing so, inspired hundreds more to get involved with their communities.

Your support means that it won’t matter where your baby is born, or if a child has an accident, they will have access to the same high standard of medical equipment to ensure a more positive outcome for each family.
